How to use Spoonk ?

The most recommended way to use Spoonk™ is to lie on your back in bed for 30–40 minutes. However, Spoonk™ can treat any sore muscle areas — back, neck, shoulders, head, hips, abdomen, feet, etc. Do not use the mat against your bones. For best effects, use direct skin contact. You can also use a thin T-shirt if your find the sensation too strong. Be careful when using the mat as the stimulation points are sharp! Apply the mat very slowly against your skin and avoid any sudden movements while on the mat to avoid any skin injuries. Accidentally moving on the mat or rubbing your skin against the mat may cause a skin injury. See How to Use Spoonk for more positions and ideas!

How does it work?

Spoonk™ has 6210 acupressure stimulation points that, once pressed against troubled areas of the body, will increase circulation and relax stiff muscles and decrease pain. In the process the body can release endorphins (pleasurable hormones), which induces a feeling of wellness and a positive attitude. Regular relaxation prevents the build up of stress and manifestation of stress related diseases. Please click here to read our terms and conditions.

What is the difference between the Spoonk’s Eco-Line and Cotton Line?

Our Cotton Line is the Spoonk for the budget-conscious consumer. Featuring the same 6,210 acupressure points of every Spoonk Mat, the cotton line is made with conventionally grown cotton, filled with USA made Eco-Foam, and comes with a nylon carrying bag.

The Eco-Line is Spoonk’s 100% organic hemp-and-cotton blend mat. Made with a 55% hemp and 45% cotton blend, both of which are 100% Global Organic Textile certified. The fabric is dyed with organic non-synthetic dyes and it comes with a stylish carrying bag. The Eco-Line Spoonk Mats are Spoonk’s proud commitment to producing an environmentally responsible and eco-friendly acupressure mat.

What is the advantage of the hemp fabric?

Hemp fiber is one of the strongest and most durable of all of the natural textile fibers. Products made from hemp will outlast their competition by many years. Hemp is an extremely fast growing crop, producing more fiber yield per acre than any other source. Its plants don’t need fertilizer or pesticides, making it even more eco-friendly and anti-bacterial.

The porous nature of the fabric’s fibers allows the hemp to “breathe,” as well as be water absorbent. This results in the fabric being cool and comfortable in warm weather, and naturally warmer in cool weather. The porous nature of the fibers also helps to absorb odors.

What is acupressure?

Acupressure is an ancient healing art, originating in India and developed in Japan as Shiatsu massage. Fingers, thumbs, and tools, such as an acupressure mat, are pressed into the body’s reflex areas, also called pressure points. The pressure stimulates the release of blocked energy and increases the circulation in problematic areas. As a result, acupressure relieves muscle tension or pain while rejuvenating and rebalancing the body.
